The sun god cometh...

It's almost 1am, and the weather report I have just seen says tomorrow is going to be the warmest of the year so far so here's the plan:
1. Get into the garage
2. Get some shots of Baby Bertha as she sits (even though I know some of you will want to string me up when you see how she's stored),
3. Get the grass cut for the first time this year,
4. Push Baby Bertha back out of the gearage and wash her down.
5. Some more pics.
6. BBQ and beer.
All in all should be a good day. Mind you, the britsh weather forecasters are notorious for getting it completely wrong so watch this space!

Somewhere in there, shouldn't I see some plans for a spin along those wonderful, windy, country roads all over the UK, for which Spridgets were born?

Forecast is for record-breaking heat tomorrow in S. California, holding out for most of the week. Parts for Ruby Red Car should arrive Monday, so I may be able to take her out again Monday or Tuesday. Yay!

Engine is seized, otherwise I most definately would! And then there's the lack of interior... She'd be ready if I was in southern CA, our warmest day temp tomorrow will be about 63F I think!

I'm having a great weekend! Today was 4 deg. C (40 F) ice & snow melting and spring seems to be thinking about being around the corner. Today I painted - engine block, cylinder head, timing chain cover, shock arms, water pump casing etc. I like paint, makes it all so pretty.

Had a friend weld a little ding on the A-arm and he took the liberty of sandblasting & priming it - nice friend.

Couln't get the other A-arm separated from the king pin (it was seized - I'll send a pic later - I was amazed. Anyway, took it to my mechanic, he spent at least an hour and then 8-10 saw blades on his air saw. when it finally came apart his reply to my query was - no charge - I like my mechanic!

Even found a $20 on the floor at the restaurant

And then to top it all off, my beloved had to go to North Carolina this week so I shipped my latest VB order (all the engine bearings/ piston rings and suspension bushings) for her to pick up there. - Saves a lot on shipping & duty. Anyway, they took her suitcase through the X Ray scanner three times and finally opened every box - and she still loves me.

But, did I mention it was herself named the car?

Have a great Sunday y'all -don't forget to move your clocks ahead!

Well the weatherman was full of the same stuff the farmer sprays on the field... cloudy and I reckon no warmer than 10C. Should've been 16C!
On my part I ended up having one heck of a lie in, only coming out of my coma at 1pm! Still, got into the garage, got some pics, cleared the junk off Baby Bertha (the kitten was into everything: he hasn't been in the garage before!). The lawn got cut, although I found out my dad had run the mower one last time last year, and not switched the fuel cut off, or topped up the tank so there was water in the fuel. It took a while to get it to run through the system, in the process I tore a chunk out of my finger. Next time I'm getting an electric start mower. Lawn took almost 3 hours, and it was a bit too cold to pull Bertha out of the garage and wash her off, so got side tracked and ended up pressure washing the patio off. The farmers forecast (always the most accurate for some reason) has said it should be a pleasant week so she will get washed this week at some point. More pressure washing too, it wasn't until I started that I realised how dirty everything was! In the mean time, enjoy the pics (I'll get some more up once she's cleaned off)
She's in there somewhere...
