Rear-view mirror

Now that my Bugeye is legal, I'm driving it more. I'd like to have "real" functioning rear-view mirrors. Mine is fender mounted, and I can't find a way to tighten it enough that it stays in position. I saw this one on a post somewhere. I'd love to have a pair of these.

Well, not quite like this but Miss Agatha sports ones from Harley Davidson. They go in the rear hole.

That's my car, I've driven it for 2K miles and it works great.
It was not a stright buy, as I assebled it from parts, one I made. I will get you the details.

PS, the reason that I put the mirror in the front threaded hole is that the side curtains work with it. In reality, I've not yet put the side curtains on, even in the rain!

smaceng-

Beautiful car. How do you get the sides of the hood to meet the rocker panels so perfectly? Were you able to do it by adjusting the factory side braces?

A number of adjustments go into getting the fit right. For my car, yes, adjusting the wing braces is one. Just make small adjustments by moving the side of the bonnet in or out and tighten the screws. Also, make sure the rubber stops are correctly located at the sill. I had to move mine in about 3/8" for all four. Also, make sure the rubber gasket at the cowl is the correct height. I purchased two aftermarket ones, and both were too thick. I sliced about 1/8" off one, and it is better, but not as good as it could be. All of this starts, of course, with the hinge adjustment. I had 4 people to help when I did mine!
See the mirror details at my other post Windshield Pillar Bolt & Nut

Scott-

After 6 months in the garage I'm not sure that I still know 4 people to help me adjust the hood. Maybe some guests at Thanksgiving...

Nice to know that anyone can do it with only a little effort.

Thanks,

Michael
