TR6 Need a part from an early TR6/250

I need one of the metal tubes that runs water from the waterpump to the back of the block bypassing the manifold if anyone has one lying around - I want to see if I can make it work for my install.

I know I can get one from Moss for $50 but I wasn't planning on spending that amount of cash for something on spec that I'm not even sure if I can use.

Anyone have a spare lying around?
TIA, Alan

Alan,

What are the dimensions of the tube? OD and length in particular. I have some thin wall stainless steel tube samples laying around from our days as sales reps for an aerospace tube manufacturer. Maybe one will be the correct diameter and length for you, if it doesn't have to be pre-bent or formed.

I got one from a guy on 6-pack, but think I'll have to cut it, the real part has a y outlet.

Paul, if you have anything that approximates the length and diameters of the heater tube running through the manifold on the later manifolds, thats what I'm looking for - I'd like an extra option to save me destroying the 'original' part.

I just want to use my original (shaped) hoses, rather than the piece of flexy silicone tubing thats there in place. I'm worried it will crimp and so block flow in use.

Alan, can you give me the OD and length? I'm at the office near samples, but no where near my car to take any measurements.

I'm at work too, thats the problem. I won't be home until late tonight.

If anyone is near their car and can help before then it would be greatly appreciated. A pure guess would be about 24" and 1/2" od.

Alan,

The best that I can do is 3/8" OD X .030" Wall X 14" long. I went through everything that we had left. If it works, it's yours. It's 316L Med grade stainless steel.

As luck would have it, I work from home, have the tubes in the garage, and I am bored with work...

The pipe that runs through the intake manifold:

1/2 inch OD, ?wall, 16.25 inches long (straight section, + 1.5 inches vertical (at teh front)

Pipe between the manifolds:

1/2 inch OD, wall is about 1/16inch, maybe a little less, and the length is 24 inches, give or take a quarter inch (that is the bent pipe with the tee near the flange connection.

Hope that helps
Alistair

I'm going to look in one more spot...back in a few.

Sorry Alan, the biggest that I have is .390" OD X .030" Wall X 14.0" Length. It could have been a perfect replacement and would have looked great too!

Also, thanks Bash for the correct measurements!
