Well, the Spridget folk have already seen this, and, first I have to finish sorting Ms Triss, and renovate the bathroom. But, here's what is next. 1958 Fiat Multipla. The good news is that it is basically complete, though as the pictures show, dismantled. Actually there is even extras like almost 2 sets of glass. As a '58, it has the 633cc smaller engine, so, a bigger engine may be in the cards. The engine comes from another Multipla though interestingly both were sold from the same dealer (I think in Kitchener) in the same month. At any rate, I am very excited - especially that I will have to learn things like welding and bodywork. The dismantling makes it look worse than it is though it's not pretty - yet.

Wish me luck!

BTW - the metal sticking out the passenger side is a pair of frame rails for a Bond Bug

Did the Bond Bug rails come with it? Sell 'em on ebay & recoup your purchase price.

No, my friend Larry is redoing a Bug and he made the rails - he actually has a Bug that is fully restored and got another shell somewhere that was in pieces - the fibreglas body had to be put back together. He already knows who the car is for.

Larry owns (off the top of my head)

Bond Bug
Bond Microcar MkB (next project)
Ford Prefect 100E
Isetta
Trabant
Lloyd (that he bought new in the last few years)
Suzuki Carry
Crosley Wagon
Daihatsu Trimobile
Vespa Ape
Lada Niva
Smart Car
2 Vauxhall Viva's (waiting to be restored)
Fiero
Midget race car (open wheel that is)

and a few more that slip my mind - he and his brother have restored them all themselves, including machining and maufacturing parts when necessary. done to a very high standard.

As for the price, let's just say the price was the same as the Midget

I think you missed some of Larry's cars on that list...

So I'll assume that Larry sold you this one? I guess you're now invited to the Micro North meet, do you ever attend them? I went to a couple of them before moving back to Alberta...

he used to have them in his basement - but this summer built a 40 X 60 foot shop. now he has an extensive die cast collection in the basement. was thinking about the Viva's and they might be Firenza's. He's also got an early 70's chevey truck, early 60's chevy. and I don't know what all else. I do hope to end up at microcar north at some point. mind you there is also an Italian cruise night north of toronto here - Abarth69 Mark goes up though the abarth isn't on the road. took a friend this summer who wasn't allowed to park his MGA but, there in the middle of the show was a camaro - 'cause after all, what's more Italian than a camero. turned out to be one of the cars from knightrider - Kit

Oh, and there's also the Ural with sidecar. The lloyd is may favourite - it is literally a new car, maybe 5000 miles now but it sat in a dealer's garage from the early 60's till now and was never ever sold or licensed.

But Larry's Lloyd Alexander, I agree it's something special, here it is...

And that might be Larry's Trabant back there, I do know that Bond Bug hiding back there is his car...

I'd love to have a Ural w/sidecar....but, an old one, not one of the new ones you can find almost anywhere.

Big hurricane? the roadsign is all turned over too! hahaha.
I have that same shirt that's hanging in the window. Blueprint of the Ural engine with all the parts labeled in Russian. Cant read a lick of it, but like the shirt.
I want a Ural someday.. new or old. just as long as it has the sidecar with the engageable drive. (preferably military paint-scheme)
I'd trade my TR2 project... any takers?hehehehe

well, today was the day - met up with Mark (Abarth69) and he drove me out to Puslinch with his truck and trailer. Got there and the van (Luigi?) was parked out front with air in his tires and a tarp for the rain that was spitting down. easy load, quick tour and coffee and off we went. Smooth ride home and by lunch he was safe and sound next to Ms. Triss.

Here we are on the road in front of the house

I love Fiats Abarth’s but I think my friend has lost it with this project. I suggest a hot rod Piazza del wagon lower section red with a white upper section maybe a 4x4 or a copped lower rider with a new power plant.

It’s got to have roof racks and light bar up front with side mounted exhaust system.

Who’s the artist in the crowd that can do us up a drawing

And to think I helped him get this home thank goodness for enclosed trailers

Cheers

Mark

Hello from Abarth69's wife. OK, I agreed for my trailer to be used in this mission, but I did not know that my brand new Yamaha Apex snowmobile was going to be put out of the trailer for the purpose of moving this pile of junk!

I am the wife of a junk collector, so no virgin to the experience, and I am trying to see the diamond in the ruff, cleaning my glasses has not helped!

Thank goodness for enclosed trailers!

Cheers

The Wife
