Going to Las Vegas next week, any car attractions?

Attending a conference, are there any cool car museums or anything like that to see?

I'm not a gambler so I'm looking for interesting things to do after hours, and I'm interested in cars.

Thanks JP, I'll definitely go to the one at the Imperial.
I will look into how I might get out to the Shelby museum, I'd like that too I'll bet.

I like the early AC Bristol conversions, if there are some very early cars to see I'd be interested. Wasn't he also involved with the Sunbeam Tiger?

I'm a fan of the early small block cars as well. Helped a Navy buddy from Glendale Cal rebuild one from a wreck after we were discharged. His dad bought it as a comeing home gift for $1500. Very simple car but not great handling. When they got crazy valuable he sold it and bought a house. He is now building a replica of the ones with uprated suspention that were raced . Believe there was some cooperation on the tiger.

Well I spent the day yesterday famiarizing myself with the area a bit.
My first impression is this place is big and not well laid out for foot traffic.
My room at the MGM Grand is really nice, but it's 200 paces from my room to the elevator.
Then it's about a half mile from the lobby to the area where the conference is happening.

Outside there are pedestrian overpasses to take you to some areas.
If you start going the wrong way it's ok, there will be another overpass in a half mile.

I tried using my navigation app with gps to get grom the hotel to an IN-N-OUT Burgers and Fries and it led me to a place where the sidewalk just ended. This after about 3/4 mile of walking.
I think I might go there later in the week and just take a cab.

The conference is pretty cool, lots of content relative to my area of work.

The MGM Grand is just freaking huge.

I fly Alaska whenever possible, gathering miles every way I can so that I can Take SWMBO on a trip this fall. It will be our 25th anniversary this year.

I hate to say but I haven't been able to go anywhere yet.
Something happened to a tooth that was drilled and capped last year so I've been dealing with that, seems to be infected. My dentist called in prescriptions to the Walgreens near the hotel so I am hoping to start feeling better soon.
For now I'm just going to the conference sessions and then back to the room, eating isn't very enjoyable so I should be losing weight especially since the round trip from my room to the conference and back is a mile and a half. I've been doing that several times a day plus a little more like walking to the drug store.
If the meds work I'll get out of here and at least get over to the Imperial to see the cars.
