...& lest you might ever become one:

THERE ARE NO METRIC NUTS OR BOLTS ON AN MGB!

...NO, 13mm doesn't hold the air cleaner on a Zenith Stromberg
...NO, 11mm doesn't hold the heat shroud on a manifold
...NO, 19mm isn't the correct bottom bolt on a starter
...No, 13mm doen't hold the driveshaft to the 3rd member
...& if I find any more metric nuts/bolts as I continue disassemblying your old car, I'll hunt you down & feed your 1st born to the German "Unpimp Your Ride" mad scientists!

geez!!!!!

....& that huge radiator clamp you used on the off-side motor mount to keep the engine steady - I'm going to use it to strangle you!!

Sorry to hear about all the trouble Tony.

Sounds like this guy could have been one of the guys that worked on my buddy’s truck a few years back on our trip down to San Filipe in Baja. Blew a radiator hose and they’d morphed what looked like an old used radiator hose from a tractor. Cut & spliced it to part of the original hose with a couple of extra hose clamps & a 4” piece of pipe. Then they used baling wire to help keep the hose from making contact with the cooling fan.

Held our collective breath for the two hour drive back into the USA, where we stopped & pulled the whole monstrosity at the first auto parts store we found. In fact I think my friend still has the whole thing hanging in his garage.

Ha, I was sure I was not the only one that found strange things when I tore one down.

yeah.... this is making that 'mystery fuel line' that's plugged off under the bonnet of my car seem like nothing...

The DPO's of the world are the VERY REASON Joe Lucas and Sons have been maligned over the decades... Sooo many cobblers, so few LBC's. More 'sin' committed on our cars than ever on a Chevy: "Aww... jus' wire th' sh*tbox together with coathangers, HE won't know th' diff'rence!"

BAAD attitude and ignorance has faxored more LBC's than all the rust maggots on-planet.

Hey, I have a coathanger holding up my exhaust at the middle! It's worked great for 2 years! One of these days I'll break down and buy one of them $10 rubber isolated mounts that's supposed to be there.

Right now the only thing holding the engine & transmission in the car is gravity...that, the front suspension & a few bits & pieces & this POS is going to the crusher!

Baling wire was holding the accelerator cable to the carb...every bolt on the driveshaft was just hand tight...not one panel on the car is worth using - rust everywhere...but the engine had 95psi oil pressure & 135-140 compression when I tested it! & it has an "L" head!

Look at the bright side, at least it wasn't like my '69 Corvette, which had a farging wheel lug nut holding the rear suspension together!

It still amazes me how fast any one person by themselves can tear a car down to it's bits. ...and also how horribly long it takes to put back together.
