It's called "ADVERTISING" Steve... Guys make millions parking 6 digit cars around monochromatic pools. Now all they need is a couple elegant, but blank eyed models......

There are two super duper hot chicks in the picture, unfortunately they are laying on the cots behind the car, the car is in the way...

I looked at a bunch of new Astons at Penske's in AZ and they just don't excite me like the older ones do. Academic anyway, since I could never afford one. To me, a clapped out DB-2 Coupe is far more interesting. Just jaded, I suppose.

I don't think anyone expects them to be have as much character as a DB 2/4 fastback (also arguably my favorite car) but as far as modern cars go, these are very nice. Most importantly, amongst the modern cars, these tend give alot more driving feedback and excitement than, say, a Mercedes or Maserati. The modern DBs are known to be great fun to drive in the country.

It is a lovely machine.

But it also looks a lot like the XK8. We seem to have lost a lot in the diversity-of-design department over the years...

:iagree:To me, it looks like what a Ford Taurus convertible would have been. The wheels really put me off. In '86 I looked at a nice DB4 but they wanted way too much. 6 grand is too much isn't it?

Have a nice day
Steve

Oh, the cars we could have had, the things we should have done..... If only we could go back.

The way I see it, one of the main problems with modern exterior automotive design is, their all mostly designed in a wind tunnel and it seems they've pretty much reached their limit on how far they can go and still maintain a practical driving machine. To me, most modern cars have no personality. I guess that's one reason we like the older ones so much.

<span style="font-size: 11pt">Now, this has personality!</span>

Hey, I know this kid Sherman. He hangs out with this quirky old Professor Peabody. Sherman said if I ever want something to give him a call at 1-843-929-2225.

Or in my case, the convertible '60 Maserati 3500 convertible that was for sale for $12,000 in the Safeway Parking lot in Walnut Creek in 1985 (in perfect running condition). As I understand it, one of only a very small handful that were ever imported into the US. I opted for my $3K Austin Healey instead.

That Maserati is now worth well over $350,000 (stock markets permitting)!
