thoughts or comments about buying the colortune thingy?
having a bear adjusting my carbs /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif , wondering if this would be faster than 3 flats one way, 3 flats the other...
Found it to be the magic carb adjusting pill ??? No.
I'm a big fan of the lifting the dashpot 1/16" and adjusting back and forth until it doesn't change the engine speed. I found the colortune was hard to see much of what color was going on in there. And it didn't take much to melt that goofy tube with the mirror that's supposed to help you see across the engine while you're fiddling with the nut.
thanks Jim, I haven't tried using the dashpot lifter until After I *think* I'm tuned.. I'll have a go at that (although I'm still seeking the magic carb tuner like everyone else)
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gifthe color tune thingy is of little use.On the other hand, the Unisync proves to be a very handy device. As for a magic tuner there isn't one it just takes patience and practice. The lift pin will not lead you astray.--FWIW---Keoke
Hello all,
it is like most things, you need to understand and get some experience in using them. I have used them for years and find them very useful. And also, contrary to most people here, I have never had any success using the lifting pin.
