Fast Road Cam

I have a 1967 BJ8 that has a rebuilt motor, with a fast road cam installed. Does anyone know what the degrees of advance should be for this cam at different RPMs? What is the range from high to low?

I think you will get a response if you specify the model number and manufacturer of your cam.
OTOH,perhaps the engine rebuilder can give you that information.

Failing that I'd try standard BJ8 timing and see how it goes.

Generally speaking, if fast cams need more advance as the hotter ones do, it's at tickover and up to say 2000 rpm and from then on they want the same as standard camshafts. For this reason tuners often restrict the total advance the distributor is capable of by modifying the centrifugal advance assembly.
