Changing a half axle

So my "Difficult Diff" post last last week really was the axle. Thanks for the troubleshooting advise.

I got the axles and the diff out, cleaned out all the carnage (the axle nub REALLY did not want to come out of the Diff,) and ordered all the stuff to do the repair. My question is how much do I do now when I put it all back together?

-Should I pull out the bearings and oil seals on the back wheels? If so, do I need a press or anything to do it. Everything seems ok with what's there now, but I know that there's a bunch of things that should be done at a time like this.

-There did not seem to be any grease or anything in those hubs when I pulled out the half axles. Should there be grease of something in there?

-What oil should I put in the Diff when I fill it up?

Thanks again for past advise and in advance for help on this new question. The amount I learn from this site is a huge benefit!

I would leave well enough alone as far as the bearings and oil seals go......if they aren't leaking or making noise then I would leave them alone.

The oil in the diff housing lubricates teh bearings, so you have nothing to worry about there......use 80/90 weight gear lube and you'll be OK.
