Bare block...I usually remove any oil plugs or other things connected to the outside. They will pop out the freeze plugs for you. Take the main caps with you and ask them if they want or need them. When I go, I take the block, crank, flywheel, main caps, and rods. This way they can balance the rods (if necessary), resurface the flywheel, polish the crank, and determine which bearings you need, dip, bore, and deck the block. Just remember, the more of your stuff you put in a shop full of other peoples stuff, the more likely they are to lose something. I've had it happen more than once. So keep track of your stuff as best you can.
