Not sure if this is an old or a new trick, but it was new to me today and worked like a charm. I'm in the process of renewing my rear axle assembly on my BE and needed to remove the hubs. Went to harbor freight and bought a set of 3 hub pullers for $20. Used the larger puller with a 15/16" socket as the spacer. The socket face was a good match w/ the threaded end of the axle assembly. Placed a bolt and some washers inside the socket with the nut facing the puller. This served to center the puller and keep all aligned. A couple of cranks and they were off w/o utilizing a BFH. Now to remove the oil seal and bearing do I need a press or can I get creative w/ a vise and some sockets. Are they just an interference fit or a press fit?
