TR2/3/3A ARP connecting rod bolts

In a forum thread from 2013 it was mentioned that ARP connecting rod bolts are very good. I will be rebuilding the TR4 engine that is in my TR3. Can someone tell me the ARP part number that should be used on a TR4 engine?

A further question, I notice that Moss lists self-locking and non-self locking (uses tab washer) connecting rod bolts. Is it recommended to use the ARP bolts, the self-locking from Moss, or the non-self locking from Moss? Thanks!

ARP 200-6021 will fit (application is 427 Ford). However, the shank that locates the cap is not quite the right diameter and it is not clear to me that using a higher quality but incorrect fastener is better than using the correct fastener.

Personally, I've always reused the originals and never regretted it. Lose the locktabs, make sure they aren't too long (none of mine have been) and use oil-resistant Loctite. I have no experience with any of the rod bolts from Moss, they are probably fine; but poor quality replacement parts has been a recurring theme for many decades now and I know that the factory parts were good. IMHO, YMMV, etc.

Thanks Randall! The rod bolts currently on my car do not have the locktabs, in addition, on the one rod I took loose, the bolts did not appear to have locktite on them. I don't know how to tell if the current bolts are self-locking or if someone just failed to put locktabs on. The bolts are not loose. Moss sales told me I should not reuse the self-locking bolts even if I put locktabs on them. Since I don't know how to determine if I have self-locking bolts, I'm considering ordering new bolts but ordering the old style bolts. Can you tell me how to tell if my current bolts are self-locking? Thanks!
