Air Deflector Assembly Hardware Help Request

I am in the process of putting my 1966 BJ8 together.
Need help in Two areas,

The Radiator Air Deflector Panel attachment to the Upper front Grille Panel ,One Fastener on each side

Also the Inner front wheel SPLASH PANELS attachment to the inner fender, 4 places, each side.

What are the correct Orig Fasteners, size,Type and direction and from which side.

Can not find any photos in the books and its so rainy here in the Northeast nobody has their cars on the road,

Hello Mark, I don't want to discourage you but installing the radiator deflectors to the grill assembly was probably the most frustrating part of my resto. Somehow you have to cram the deflector brackets, the inner grill teeth and the outer trim ring to a set of three brackets mounted to the shroud, real fun

To answer your questions, the two deflector shields mount to the fender wells with #8 buttonhead SS sheetmetal screws. Thats easy, they should be painted body color. The black wind deflectors mount with 7/16 inch threaded bolts on top. The lower bar is fastened to the deflector with #8 buttonhead screws with washers and nuts and are painted black also. I assembled the whole thing and loosely mounted all until I was ready to mount the grill teeth and outer trim pieces.

Hi Mark,

I'll try to give some information on this: I looked in the Body Service Parts List, and I don't see any connectors listed for the top corner of the air deflectors although it does show the lower horizontal (zinc hex head screw, 1/4" shaft diameter and 3/4" long) and vertical (zinc panhead screw, 3/16" shaft diameter, 1" long) dimensions. Anderson and Moment's restoration book says (page 147) they are "fastened through tabs at their top rear corners to holes in the subframe on each side near the S-brace, with hex bolts,nuts and washers."

The Body Service Parts List has a picture of the screws used to attach the splash panels, but no dimensions. Again, Anderson and Moment's restoration book says (page 142) that they are attached with "large Phillips truss-head sheet-metal screws. Panels and fasteners were body colored."
