This one is a car owned by one of My Special Ops buddies...callsign Pitbull. He is currently toughing it out on a TDY to Honolulu so while he's gone, I pulled the bumpers and fenders and took the day yesterday to fit all new 3 inch widened fiberglass fenders. Took two of us over six hours to fit them and the custom glass running boards. Today the get pulled, primed and painted. Probaly go back on tomorrow...Not a good pic as doors were shut due to wind...I'll post better ones later today.

Here is a pic of a 1970 Bug we are working on. It has three inch wider front fenders, four inch wider rear fenders, has been chopped four inches and has suicide doors. The brakes are four wheel disc with a Porsche 5X130 bolt pattern. The rear wheels are 17"X9" with 255/40R17's, the front wheels are 17"X7.5" with 205/50R17's. The engine is a 2110cc and there will be a whole host of custom wiring done to it as well.

Absolutely love the chopped top. Got more of a side picture you can post? Any "in progress" pictures of the chop?

Its my brothers car, you can check out more of the transformation here at his own website for it. Unfortunately he doesn't have any photos of the "in-process" of the chop. Several Pie cuts were involved on the C-Pillar though. It also took roofs from two Bugs to accommodate the wider and longer new roof resulting from the chop. There is no rake to the chop, which is a rarity on chopped bugs.

Wow, what an AMAZING job!! The attention to detail and all the little touches and subtle improvements will leave a lot of people wondering - "How'd they do that??!" If I may, something caught my eye that I would like to offer up. The vertical slats in the body and the horizontal slats in the rear lid clash. You may want to think about or already have thought about changing the slats in the lid to match the body slats, if possible. Then the body slats, lid slats and the tailights - great touch, btw - will all have the same verticle orientation.
Keep us posted on the progress!! Thanks again for the great story and pictures!!

Those slots are all factory slots and the paint is finished, so they won't be changing. Some of the things are supposed to look totally VW "Normal" while others parts are supposed to make you look twice.
