    Redi-Strip/Kwik-Strip in Allentown,PA...

... is closed. Tried to drop parts off, they are no longer in business.

I had heard they were struggling with insurance given their proximity to the Lehigh River. Looks like the cost made it impractical to stay afloat.

I found a powder coater (King Powdercoating) not too far away; they're going to strip and coat my chassis parts. Dunno where I'll go if I need body/sheet metal stripped. Maybe a soda blaster?

Sorry to hear the news. I used them on multiple occasions to strip parts. Let us know if you find another place that you recommend.

Thanks again to the government regulators who work diligently to drive companies out of business. I wonder where his employees will find a job?

Find someone to soda blast your body panels when needed. Does a really nice job, is more enviormentally friendly these days and should be easier to locate. Most shops that sand blast do both now.

I met a guy once that opened a Redi-Strip franchise and the parent company basically bled him dry by charging him all kinds of fees for advice. The dip would lose strength quickly. They ended up cooking the shell to remove paint before they dipped it. He dropped the franchise and later closed shop.

I was kind of puzzled, because I thought the stipper was pretty much caustic soda which (at one time) wasn't very expensive.
