Where can I get a rubber boot for the 5 speed 1980 TR7. The big 3 don't have them.

That looks gorgeous DNK but it's the rubber boots underneath (gathers). Didn't realize there were 2 rubber boots. Team Triumph here in town had one that only had one small crack in it. The intermediate boot was perfect. i used some adhesive urethane to glue it together. I assembled it tonight and it fits great. Still need to look for a new one. Rimmer Brothers has them but for a 1 line order not worth the shipping across the big pond.
Next summer when I change the carpet I'll do the top shift boot. It has a few pin holes in it. Getting to the inner boots you and see the edges of the original carpet and can't believe how much the carpet has faded over the years. I thought it was a golden tan but it was brown.

I see you cut your "broom stick" down. Mine is next. The original shifters are necked down at the top. How did you do yours? Did you just drill out the shifter knob and tap in new threads then cut new threads on the shaft? What size did you use?

The rubber boot is what keeps the exhaust smell out of the cockpit. The vinyl shift cover isn't sufficient to do the job. Most of the ones I find are anywhere between torn and out right destroyed. The spider I just parted had a perfect one. In fact, for a rusted out junk, most of the rubber pieces were pristine. It had a new alternator, stainless exhaust, clutch and brake masters, and lots of other goodies that are usually broken on a parts cars.
