On my 71 TR6; the wiper switch that was installed in the car is different than the others. It has a silver bezel around it and the metal dash was trimmed evidently so it would fit. I notice that there was a bracket attached to the rear of the wood dash that was shared by both the wiper switch and the washer switch. This bracket has been cut in half also. I have a new wood dash and repainted the metal dash and was beginning to look at the steps to re-assemble the metal dash, wood dash and steering column back into the car. The switch was one of the first odd things I noticed during disassembly and that it was very loose in the old cracked and delaminating dash. In the new dash it has a low friction fit. I'm sure I could paint the silver bezel and increase the friction or use some type of non-hardening adhesive. Any comments are appreciated.
I've read from the various parts sellers that the Clear Hooters aren't available and the Lucas is the replacement but is just a friction fit the only way to fit the new switch in the dash after making more room on the metal dash?
