T-Series TD UPDATE

Just got home from long weekend trip to the Jack's & the Coast & stopped by body shop on way...my '53 TD is in white epoxy primer...now, they start working all the tiny dings in the body & then we hang the fenders, doors, hood, etc for fit...then, it comes apart so the frame & engine can get painted before the body goes in its final color.

I just got your e-mail about parts I ordered. Thanks Tony. Thought maybe you did your own work, as you seem to have the place for all this work. I may try to visit this palace as i try to travel with Annie to exotic places, and that seems like one

chuck - no, I've found a small individually owned place on the outskirts of the county that specializes in nothing but antique cars (theire main business is gov't contracts but only because restorations don't pay the bills)....in with my TD rght now are an early GTO, an early Chevelle SS, & a couple of older pick ups...oh, & an old Studebaker wagon - not station wagon but horse pulled wagon!

If you look at some of the prewar pictures of MG in hill climb events, you will see that MG actually set the bar for Jeep (and set it quite high).

When they did Miss Agatha they were also sandblasting and painting a boat trailer.

Shoot the only problem is they are a days drive away.

When I dropped by today they had finished the body & put the second coat of white epoxy primer on it - had a couple of small places they want to smooth & then will shoot the final primer...said he's coming in tomorrow morning to finish those tiny things & get it ready for assembly to check adjustment.

hehehehe....no BBQ rack on back nor any mirrors on front fenders either, Doc....other than that, the photo is a mirror of what mine will look like.

Up until now, we've been working with the stripped-to-bare metal tub & the white epoxy primered tub (go backwards in this thread to see the progress)...the tub & all the body panels are finally in the final primer...starting tomorrow, they block sand everything to make sure there are no high or low spots...then respray final primer color...then we assemble doors, fenders, running boards, hood, gas tank, etc) to check fit...then disassemble everything for final paint (chassis shiny black & engine proper maroon before body tub & panels)...

...man, this seems like a long process!!
