Spitfire Spitfire track width measurement request.

Hello everyone, I have a 1961 Turner that uses spitfire/gt6 front suspension parts. I am currently in the process of cutting down the rack to fit the more narrow Turner. I need the stock width of the Spitfire from mounting surface to mounting surface. (Eg where the wheel mounts to the hub. can't use track width listed in common databases as my car has different offset wheels. The measurement will serve as a baseline for my rack. Thanks!

On my 65 Spitfire the distance from the wheel mounting surface to the same on the opposite side, is roughly 51 and 1/8 inch. I'm not sure how precise my measurement is. I arrived at this number by measuring across the inside of the front tires, with my car sitting on the ground (see pics) and then adding the difference from the mounting surface on the rims to the tire sidewalls.

The measurements were 39 and 1/4" between the tires, plus the 3" for the tape measure body. The distance between the inside side wall on the tire and the mounting surface of the rim is 4 and 7/16" per side.

Thank you very much for the post! That is exactly what I need! It also helps that the car was at ride hight when you took the measurement (as its the track can change slightly). Looks like I should be able to validate my drawings from this. Looks like I need to cut down the rack by 3.8 inches.

Your Welcome. The measurement could be a little off, due to any camber setting. I hope its close enough.
