I am trying to foresee some future problems before I get stuck when I am in a rush....I noticed the rear lisence palte holder on one of my 78's is getting a little rusty and could use a painting.....I know theres two screws in the middle of it holding it on....I am worried about getting the wiring to the lisence plate lights disconnected though....where should I disconnect it if I want to remove the entire metal holder?

If it's like the 75 there will be 4 bullet connectors on the harness running down the back of the trunk. 2 on each side of the trunk latch bout half way to the reverse lights. Disconnect them and remove the 2 bolts and it should come right out.

Stewart, is correct - its a pretty simple procedure. Jut pop he to locate the wires trunk and everything is right there.

I actually re did last year. First cleaned & scuffed it up with some fine sandpaper. Then I painted it with Rust-Oleum flat black paint.

Then reassemble it and feed the wires back into the truck and reconnect. That's it - Yer done!

Doh! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Sorry, my brain is totally fried at the moment. What can I say I had a long day at work only to be confronted by my teenage son who asked for help with his homework?

I don't recall my homework being this difficult when I was in the tenth grade. But then that was more than thirty years ago.

Rob's correct in his translation: If ya pop open the boot and everything is right under yer nose.

Bret, Sarah's 26 and I couldn't help her with her homework after about 8th grade! It's awful, isn't it!? You know, if he does need some extra help in a particular subject, check into some peer tutoring through the school.
