I discovered a new "talent" today

I can distinguish between a 1275+.060 motor and a 1275 standard bore by using my hand. It seems that I can fit my hand into the overbore size, but not the standard. I have not tried anything between the two, I just happen to have two blocks back from the shop at the same time and was cleaning them when I made the discovery.

I'll be rebuilding a 1275 in the near future. I was planning to use a micrometer to check the bore, but I may just drive over from Utah instead.

I just look for the code on the top of the pistons... if there isn't one I recognize, I figure it's stock.

Still does the hand method distinguish +020 from +030 over? :friendly_wink:

Doesn't an +060 have offset pistons too?

Not necessary unless you want to leave room for another overbore.
