Hotrodding a Fiat 600 with Fiat 850 motor/ trans ?

Does anyone know a website that shows how to put a FIAT 850 motor and trans in a Fiat 600 ?

Fiat 600 motors run backwards so you cannot just put the motor in , you need to put both in !

Yes they make reverse cams but that seems like a lot of trouble,

I just do not know what you do for axles etc

I got offered a Fiat 850 spider yesterday for $200,
but if I get it I will need to rip it apart ASAP as I do not have the room,

So I need to figure out which parts will interchange with a Fiat 600 and make sure I take them off !

been looking on google but no luck so far

I once wanted to buy an old fiat 500 and stuff a ford 289 inna front of it, with a shortened axle in the rear... I bet it woulda done wheelies. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Many, many moons ago a company called PBS had a kit to put a 124 twin cam into a 850.... but I digress....

I sure wish I knew!! I've got this pefectly good shortblock that spins in the wrong direction!!
I'd put up some more pics if I could figure out how to work the bloody scanner software!!!

Corvairs run "backwards" too,

there was a reverse cam for Corvairs so you could run them in a VW bus with VW gearbox......

By the way, Doc, that fuel pressure regulator is history. I tossed this one 183 feet.

I went and looked at the $200 Fiat 850 spider this morning ,

not a bad car , no rust , not sure if the motor works but its complete ,

I just have to figure out if it will fit in the 600 without cutting the Fiat sheetmetal,

I think the Fiat 600 will be here next weekend,,,

I always wanted to put a Fiat 124 twin-cam into an MG Midget just so I could call it a Fidget! With the 1500 Fiat DOHC, Weber carb and Fiat 5 speed I think it would really go too!

what size webers do you have on the 850 motor ?

and is it 850cc or larger ?

if i end up putting the 850 motor in the Fiat600 I will need a carb set-up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Beaulieu, if you're referring to <u>my</u> "hotrod", those are 40mm Mikunis. The engine is a 1300, that's gotten the Abarth treatment.
