thought this was one of Steven Wright's, so looked it up. i was...er...Wright!
And the walk home was twice as steep, twice as long and two times the snow. And it was a dark and stormy night.
when my kids were little it was my son's job to walk his younger sister to the bus. We were on the nearest bus route to the school. He would literally walk with her a couple hundred yards in the opposite direction to the school (the bottom of the street), He would get his sister on the bus and then walk to the same school. After school the same. The nature of the route meant that he would walk to the stop, meet his sister as she got off the bus and together they would walk home.I had to walk two miles to catch a bus to school that was a mile away.
