Almost ready to start it up.
It's a '67 MKII 1500GT.It's been down since mid November.
Engine's been rebuilt,& ready to be started.
Any advice? Like how long until the first oil change?
I might be selling it soon,to help pay off some bills.

Hey Doug,

It was good to meet you when you were back east. I am also glad that you got to British Car Day. That show has been going since about 1978, survived a major change of venue, and is finally rebounding. Congrats on getting the Cortina done. I usually change the oil after the first 500 miles or so, and retorque the head, adjust valves and so forth. I find that a close inspection like that gives you a chance to nip any problems in the bud. Shocking eh? two Ford threads in a row...

Went to start it - I think the battery's starting to go.
Cranked & cranked - Nothing.
Checked the fuel at the carburator - Nothing.
Blew compressed air through the fuel line (between the tank-
- & the fuel pump - Still not getting gas at the carb.
Ideas?

Mine do taht all the time rom sitting. I would try a new fuel pump. I prefer one from a Pinto to one for a Fiesta. I'm going to go electric here I think.

Its got spark, right?

I'd go electric as well. Did it to all the Loti, including the MkI Lotus Cortina. Just my take on it.

Yeah, get the low pressure pump at your local
autozombie, puts out 3.5psi, best thing I ever
did for the Rockettes Capri...
