I did a quick general tune up the other day, including valve lash, point gap and plug gap. I drove maybe a total of 25 miles and the last few miles the car quickly developed a bad miss. I got home and found the point gap to be very wide .020+. I know that I set it at .014 and the car ran great at that setting, I just reset it to .014 and the car runs great again. What would cause quick wear to the points?
