I've got the Haynes and Bentley Manuals and I've heard (read /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif ) good things here about
Tuning the A-Series Engine: The Definitive Manual on Tuning for Performance or Economy by David Vizard

which I plan on ordering this week.

I was wondering what other books might be great to have on hand to get my sprite humming in tune. Maybe something focusing on the SU Carbs?

Not really LBC specific, but ANY of Carroll Smith's books on racing car prep are great. Full of good info.

I think David Vizard's Bumper book of tuning everything A series but mainly mini's is good if you plan to do serious modifications and tuning, but for normal road use I wouldn't spend my money on it. (Actually, I did spend my money on it, but only because it was £2!)

Not sure that many people will have taken advantage of the chapter on how to build a 1600cc A series though!

I think I'll stick with the 1275 /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I just re-wired my Tach from pos to neg earth so I figure it's time to do all those tune up things to get her to purr.

The ads and prices in the SU book are a bit of "extra" fun, too.

There's also a book by Des Hammill, 'How to build & power tune SU's', but I found it really technical and hence out of my realm of ability.
One other awesome website....

Oh, another book I don't think was mentioned, but I put it above the Haynes, and below the Bentley, is the Autobook by Kenneth Ball; comes in hardback with a grease/oil proof cover. Has a priceless technical specs section in the back.
