Any interest in a Trading Post Section

Is there any interest out there in BCF land for a forum for the purpose of trading parts? Not parts to buy but really exchanges of parts or bartering.

Would that be kosher with you Basil?

I kinda like the idea myself. What are you wanting to trade? Whatcha lookin for?

Oh, I just realized that Tony has an advantage over most of us. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif But maybe one day - LOL!

Sound like a great idea. I have things to trade, things I need and things out there that I don't even know I need yet. It would be good way to recirculate all these extra parts I have...

I think that you could already just put stuff up in the "classified" section and offer to trade instead of listing a price.

Okay, I took some advice and posted my want ad in the "Wanted" section of the BCF classified ads. I received 5 total viewers and I think that 4 of those were me checking in every once in a while.

What does this tell us?

Well for one, not many people go to the classified section to look at what other members have posted for trade or otherwise.

Maybe it's too buried in the classified section, maybe it's because members don't think about this if it isn't right in front of them at the time.

Do you think if there was a dedicated forum section just for trading of parts that it would facilitate trading more?

Here is what I posted in the "Wanted" section.

I'm looking for some replacement door panels for the 79 LE I'm restoring. Would prefer black. Should be in good condition. Willing to pay a fair price or trade for parts that you may need.

Actually, I looked at your ad, but since you're looking for MG parts and I'm a TR guy, I didn't think we'd have much to trade (though I did find a MGB cam core out in the garage - it's rusty though)
