ABFM = All British Field Meet.
I've made most years since owning British cars -
- even ran the slalom in a Cortina MKII Automatic -
- (was more fun than I'd thought it'd ever be).
I have a TR6,but take the Cortina,because they're
not as common.
We'll be heading back to Florida on Labor Day this
year (darn it),so won't make it.
Which Cortina do you have. Since my first love and car was a Lotus Cortina, I check them out religiously when I am at Portland.
Do you know any of the guys from Wally's Cortinas?
This will be my first one, I'm excited. I just got my Triumph in Nov. My car has been though, it has 6 dash badges. I'd like to go to the All Triumph Drive In but I'm dubious about driving to B.C.
The MAy Vancouver ABFM is in 1 of the prettiest settings for a car show. It is in the VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Don't feel dubious about driving in BC. There will be LBC all over.
We have 2 Cortinas - a 1967 MKII 1500 GT,Green with
a White top,Appliance (Crager S/S copies),and a
1972 MKIII,Yellow,with stock MKII-type hubcaps.
I've known Wally for quite a few years. He's been
selling off many of his cars & parts lately.
Had a chance to buy a Locort from him a couple of years ago. He had blown the engine in a did=fferent cay at Portland and yanked the the whole drive train out of this one. I was salivating and my wife had to drag me away.
She said get rid of the 6 and you can get the Lotus C.
Man ,thats not fair. Both the females in my famly think they are ugly. They just don't understand!
I'm not worried about driving in BC, it's the 750 mile round trip that I'm not sure about. I haven't had my Spit more than 75 miles from home since I got it.
