Hello E Type Owners.
Two years ago I purchased a Series ll. The engine had been completely rebuilt by the previous owner with pictures as proof. On the Exhaust valve cover is attached a sticker that proclaims the valve settings should be .012 and .014. My shop and owners manual says; .004 and .006 for normal driving. This engine was not set up for racing so what gives?
Upon checking the intake valves only, I come up with between .008 and .010 after about 30,000 miles on the engine. It seems to me, that would indicate the valves were indeed set at .012 and my measurements would allow for normal valve recession.
Can anyone shed light on this?
