Possible, but not likely IMO. I would look for something that restricts fuel flow, like a line that is partially blocked or an old fuel filter. IIRC, the TR6 has rubber line under the tank that is often overlooked and can deteriorate with old age.
In my case, the body shop that did my paint job had left the gas cap off during the process without covering the hole to the tank; and the line from tank to pump was almost totally clogged with paint dust, etc. Oddly enough, the problem didn't show up for months of driving to work every day, but blowing compressed air backwards through the line shot all sorts of black crud into the tank (the remaining fuel looked more like ink) and solved the problem.
BTW, trrdster2000, your signature photo is being held hostage by Photobucket. From this end, it's just a blurry mess with their ad logo on top of it. You might want to consider changing your sig.
