I see Moss has their wiring harnesses on sale right now. Anyone install one of these? How do they compare to the others that are available either in the US or overseas?
I just completed a rewire of a BJ8 with a Moss harness. Braided over PVC, no major issues other than the bulb holders are different from the originals.
Had to buy the correct bulbs from Moss.
Also the directional indicator light bulb holders that fit between the speedo and tach are junk. The bulbs wouldn't stay in the holders. I ended up using the original holders from the old harness.
Oh and it didn't come with all the single and double connectors you will need.
Our club in Southern Cal just had a tech session at a local vendor's shop and the subject of quality of Moss' wiring harnesses came up and the consensus was to go to www.britishwiring.com for quality wiring harnesses.
I do remember having to crimp the round bulb holder to fit inside the green plastic directional signal indicator. Afterwards I pushed the bulb holder all the way up, but not touching, the front of the indicator. The indicator then lit up just right and easily visible.
Just installed a Britishwiring harness and loved it there were about a dozen termanals that needed to be added at install, due to differences in models but all wires were correct lengths, colors, and terminals. I took my time to install and only took about 10 hours.
Cheers,
Casey
