TR2/3/3A New Wiring Harness

I'm getting ready to put the wiring harness back in my TR3A. I've been looking forward to this job for a long time, as you can imagine. I've decided that my old harness is too ratty to try to save so I've been looking at the britishwiring.com wiring harness which is a few $$ cheaper than some of the others. Any comments, pro or con would be appreciated.

One other question about the wiring harness. Is there any advantage of using a cloth bound vs pvc bound harness? The original was cloth bound, but I understand that both cloth or pvc were being used in the S/N range of my car (T68000).

I had a problem from one of the major suppliers with a harness they sent me for a TR4. It was black and I insisted on having the blue as per original. I was very surprised when I received the harness drop shipped from British Wiring. So I am not to sure that most of the better harnesses don't come from the same supplier--British Wiring. That is my speculation.

p.s. If you can keep the cloth harness clean I think they look much better. But I don't see any advantage to either one.

Thanks Charley. I had and idea that the suppliers may be using the same source. I had seen one contributor on this forum saying that they were pleased with the BW harnesss. I had never heard of the Company before, so I checked them out and they do have slightly lower prices, + slightly lower shipping than the majors. i was hoping to get a consensus on customer experience with BW, and I appreciate your input

British wiring is excellent. All their stuff is top notch.

I agree that cloth bound looks better (to me) - though mine is a pre-60K so vinyl wrap was not on offer. Worth paying a bit more for in my opinion.

British Wiring is an excellent choice; product is top notch and the staff knows what they are doing. There were minor changes to the wiper motor and some of the switches over the years so get the harness that is pertinent to your car. Call BW, tell them your commission number and they will make sure you get the right harness. Also ask them if the bullet connectors are attached or whether you need to attach them yourself. Might need to solder them or get a tool to crimp them.

Replaced my harness last winter - extremely happy with the British Wiring harness....and soldering the bullet connectors is very easy once you get a hang of it. I watched a couple of youtube videos to show me the best technique and I was off to the races.
