Windshield Installation

I've got my windshield assembly back. I've got some questions about installing it. First, is this going to be a two-person job? Second, the long rubber gasket between the frame and body of the car...should some of this be trimmed or a slit cut where it comes close to the bottom of the A pillar? Third is about the vertical rubber pieces on the A pillars that fit between the frame and the vent window frame. The glass installer left these long top and bottom. How much should I trim off?

I put the pads down between the body and frame and just inserted the windshield in as far as it would go. It sits proud of the body by about an inch. My wife saw the windshield and exclaimed that it finally is starting to look like a car.

I wrote a tech article in the knowledge base on how I installed my windshield on my '77 1500 midget. I'm fairly certain there is no difference between a '74 1275 and the 1500's when it comes to the windshield. Take a read, it may help you out.

Not sure if I'll have enough hands to wrestle with a windshield and take photos. My concern is with those vertical a pillar rubber pieces. I don't want to cut them too short from the bottom. I have an idea about where to cut them flush with the frame at the top.
