TR2/3/3A Windshield glass doesn't fit

Hi Folks I bought a Pilkington windshield glass from a well known supplier. The bottom corners of the glass has been ground ( I suppose) as a relief for the brackets that holds the frame together. These grinds are close to 1/4 inch deep and that's my problem. Those relief cuts are robbing me of almost 1/2 inch of overall width at the bottom and the frame won't cover. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks

That angle shown in both pics should not be there. The sides should be perfectly straight. It looks like maybe someone chipped the corners and sanded them to hide the booboo.

The only recourse I see is to send them back for correctly cut windows...

I cannot see it maybe after some more coffee. Are you talking about where the glass meets the miter joint and sticks past? Can you take a picture from a different angle? It sounds like you slide on the top section and no love. I remember someone else saying something similar years ago, but I think it worked out for them somehow.

Unwrap the beast, tape the edges, and do a careful test assembly. It is fairly common to have badly done corners.
If they are FUBAR call the supplier.

I believe it will fit fine. Remember the window sits into a 3/8 to ¼ inch slot. In addition, the window is not squared to fit the frame. The windshield floats and finds it resting point in that imperfect world of the frame. Try a dry fit with no sealer or rubber or maybe use some painters tap if there is room and see where the assembly fits as a whole.

Thanks for all the replies.. I sent the dang thing back. For $600 the thing should fit.

Back in the day this could be had for under 100$ almost anywhere. I recommend TRF, have had good luck on glass
