There were over 100,000 wedges built with that axle as well as another half million SD1s that used that axle. To my knowledge, none left the factory with a limited slip. To get one, you had to install a Quaife. There were around 100,000 BMW 2002s made. The limited slips were not common until BMW started making the 320i in 77. I'd guess more than 1 in 10 had the LSD. on later BMWs, I'd say it's greater than 1 in 4 have a LSD. But it doesn't stop there. Did any TR or MG ever leave the factory with a limited slip? Could you get close ratio steering boxes or trannys? I doubt it. But you could get wire wheels, a luggage rack, or an overdrive transmission. The only bolt on goodies I see for our cars are grill badges and chrome threshold plates.
