When to replace the throttle disk?

I can see daylight when the disk is fully closed - is that correct or does that represent wear indicating a new disk is needed? I though it should seal all the way shut, no?

Look at the "mouth" to see the daylight (sorry, couldn't help it).

Did you make sure that the throttle stop screw is not still adjusted for idle speed ?

The main thing is that the butterfly is centered and doesn't hang up on the carb body. You will see some daylight as air still needs to get past at idle.
You may need to do a little more centering before reassembly.

Thanks guys - turns out that is was the idel screw. I backed it off and it seals properly now and is centered. Thanks!
