TR4/4A Upholstery trim question.

I am about to renew some of my cockpit trim.....I have attached a pic of the old sill trim.
Question is...should the short vinyl edge trim be further up touching the triangle brace. Currently there is a gap of about an inch to the bottom of the triangle.

I can't say & can't say that it matters. On mine there is a triangular piece that covers that area when everything is installed:

The vinyl wraps over triangle inside and out, then extends down enough for the carpet to cover it about an inch.

Thanks guys.....the old sill cover that was on the car must have been a poorly made repro.
From the above answers it seems there are 2 ways to do the triangle cover......vinyl down under the carpet with the carpet resting against the outside of the vinyl ...or glue some stiffening material to the back of the vinyl that comes down the face of the triangle and then over the carpet as per "Geo Hahn".
Also, I wondered if there should be vinyl covering the whole of the B post so no body paint is seen.

There is a cardboard triangle used under viny. A small thin strip of vinyl goes on b post as well, no paint should be seen.

FYI - In that photo I posted the carpet is a replacement, the vinyl is original.

Another question....see attached pic...what is the neatest way to fit the carpet against the transmission tunnel...glue the carpet covering the trans tunnel to the ledge and run it down and around the ledge and then under the underlay/carpet, or try to run the carpet up over the ledge so that the carpet would fit against the vertical wall of the tunnel?

I put my carpet on the tunnel and ran it down to the floor plus a little bit. Then the floor carpet went over the top of the carpet from the tunnel. I am presently working on a car that the P.O. glued everything every where. BAD BAD BAD. I guess that he never figured to EVER have to lift anything like the tunnel off. In my opinion leave the glue alone, except for the small pieces attached to the firewall above the tunnel. If you need to fix something in place use what they originally used which was the carpet snaps.
