BN2 Door Upholstery

Anyone got photos and/or instructions for installing upholstery on BN2 doors? Have general idea, panels shouldn't be a problem, but don't know how inner portion--including vinyl lining--is installed. Any help, advice, etc. appreciated.

Hey Bob,
All I did with the vinyl that goes inside the door cavity was cut it to fit the door skin portion and then enough to overlap onto both door ends, if that makes sense. I am not sure if that is correct but did it that way as when door is opened, you can see the jam portion where the door is mounted to the door brackets. I did apply a thin foam to the door skin first so the vinyl wouldn't possibly show anything that might print from the steel onto the vinyl. Make sure to use an adhesive that will not soften with heat as the typical 3M spray can type seem to not handle the heat as I would expect them to. I was able to get some from a local trim shop and applied to the foam and vinyl and it is not going anywhere. BTW, if you have not bought your door cards or not recovering your old ones, John Skinner in UK makes the best ones I have seen. Used them on my 100M and very pleased with their appearance and quality.

Thanks, Mike. That's my concern--covering the ends where the brackets and latch mechanisms are. Can't decide if it's best to fold the inner door vinyl, or cut separate pieces. Have heard mention of an inner 'pocket,' too ... not sure what that is.

Got the kits from Moss. So far, they are decent but not perfect; one piece missing and one incorrect, but Moss made good on them. I started to use the 3M spray adhesive and it seemed OK, but at $20/can was way too expensive. I got some glue from a shop--Weldwood brand--that is cheaper by far and I brush it on, which uses too much but at least goes where I want it to.
