OK, I am very corn-fused. To be sure my new windscreen install goes without problems/breakage, I opted to assemble my frame without the glass, put tape over the frame and lay the new windshield on top to get a feel for spacing. To my amazement the glass barely covers the opening on the sides as it nears the corners.
IS that right?
There are spots where there will be less than a quarter on an inch actually in the frame and I am not sure that is sufficient if the glass shifts at all.
Does someone have a loose windshield and frame they can measure?
(My old one had a severe crack and broke up on removal).
At the widest point, across the bottom, my glass measures 44" and the frame (screwed together measures 43 7/8 ID That's not much and it seems that it could shift that little bit and come out.
Am I missing something or is my new windscreen too small ?
(I believe if I were to let it drop all the way in bottom frame piece the top corners may not be in frame).
All suggestions welcome.
I do apologize for being so wordy.
Thanks
Griff
