Well I bought a tr2 yesterday. I need to stay off Craigslist, but I thought I would share because my tr3 infatuation can be habit forming and contagious. I once heard Geo say he always enjoys looking at old triumphs.
This car has the wrong engine plus, been road hard and hung-up- wet, the doors are wrong, and I do not know what else yet. The Wipers are different than I have seen before and the hydraulic system is different, and it has brake shoes on the front. This will be my first experience with the older hydraulic system, I guess Lockheed.
Anyways, I have the car drying out up in the barn. The rust is deep in places, and the car is rough, but the rear wheel arches, inner and outer, are better than the one I have been restoring ---------- I have not started taking the car apart yet, but wheel arches look and feel stronger. .. Plus it is a whole car in one piece!
It had 2 flats; the right front only had a rim/wheel, there was some air on the passenger rear. The car slid off the wreaker at about 30 degrees then into my mud driveway in the snow. Heck the shop said they delivered, but I had to coax them in to the tow later because I paid up front. This story is the stuff; I can do all by myself. I had 4 used old wheels and tires put them on in the snow and it was fun.
