Terrorist has attacked my car and I can only assumed the bomber left his little package right around the gear changer, as that looks to be ground zero as the holes get larger from there out in the passenger compartment. It blew the dash into fibbers and went out the battery box, floorboards and rocker panels. It must have a claymore mine type as it all seems to go forward.
How else could you explain a nice TR6 being parked under a trap for 18 years to be in such condition?
While looking up in my Moss for an esterguess on a possible restore, I threw the book away and just figured on ordering one of each. Good frame and competition engine so I’m giving it a thought, but every body panel is rusted or dented and some both. The engine would go great in mine and I would have a few spares.
Oh, it’s a 1973 with air and the air still had a bit of pressure after all those years and the carbs still had a bit of oil in them, heck, I can’t keep it in mine over the weekend. I did a quick carb clean and a couple of gaskets and after a couple of days with Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders it broke free, cleaned the plugs and points and SHE FIRED UP after it blew all the dirt dobber and wasp nest out of the exhaust, 90 PSI on the oil pressure and the alternator worked. Yes, I did change oil and filter and used a plastic bottle for a gas tank, that way you can put a little pressure on the carbs and will give you a better indication of what you have. I didn’t use the tank as the hole was filled with aluminum oxide, and needed cleaning something terrible.
