Hello All!
I am a new jag owner and love the performance and style of my car. However, my check engine light has come on and a local mechanic (not dealer) checked it out and said I had error code PO460 (Fuel level sensor unit?) was faulty. The mechanic said this is not a huge problem, but if I wanted it fixed I would need a whole new fuel pump assembly (3 separate parts) to fix it completely. This would require pulling the fuel tank. My question is, can the sender sensor just be replaced or does the whole assembly need replaced. He quoted me a price of about $800.00 USD. That seems steep for a fuel level sending sensor. Am I being fed a line of bull or does that sound right. The car is a 2003 X-type (15K miles) 3.0 engine. Thank you for offering this valuable website. DocStu
