Did you bench bleed the master cylinder? If not something to try..

FIRST! put down plastic in your engine bay!!

Have a person pump the brakes once and hold down the pedal.... then very slowly, loosen the front most brake line on the MC.. but not enough to remove it, just enough to let the extra air bleed out. Let the pedal go down just like you were bleeding the brakes, tighten the line and let the pedal up.

Do that process a couple times and see if it helps.

Also be sure your rear brakes are properly adjusted. Yes, I realize you probably didn't even work on that end of the car... but it's just another place where excess travel can be introduced into the hydraulic system.

A long shot here, but it happened to someone I know so it is worth mentioning. Any chance you mounted the calipers with the bleed nipple facing down? They'll never bleed that way. If so, swap the calipers side to side so the nipples are at the top and the air can get out via its natural tendency to float to the top.

If not that, then keep trying. Good luck.

Hey Larry:

I feel your pain, and I second everything everyone said. I recently installed a new MC and a new servo, and didn't bench bleed the MC before doing it (it had been so long since I'd done that kind of thing, and I honestly forgot). So, with it all installed and with fluid in the system, I wasn't about to remove it and do the bench bleed thing. Sooo, I was stuck with having to be patient. I used speed bleeders, and started with the back brakes. I was *very* careful to only pump the pedal twice before refilling the resevoir with the back brakes. It's so shallow and small, and I found that if I wasn't careful, I sucked air back into the lines. It took a couple of hours, and a lot of brake fluid, but by making sure the resevoir was full, starting with the rear brakes, I finally got all the air out of the system. You'll get there, man!

B.
