TR2/3/3A Piston gap orientation

OK, I've got the new 4 ring pistons from moss. They have one 3 piece oil ring and one solid oil ring down on the skirt. How would you orient the ring gaps? Does the old theory of putting the compression ring gaps away from the thrust side of the engine still hold?

Just keep going 45 degrees from the one above. Start with the first one away from the spark plug.

They spin in service...so it's really just ancestor worship. To this day I still offset the compression rings 180 degrees from each other. DO make certain that the oil expander is not lined up with the gaps on the oil scraper rails. That ring spins as a unit, so you want the gaps altered there. There have also been several posts about oil rings failing from not butting the edges of the expander correctly. Make sure the ends do not overlap.
