Options & measurements for front floor repair

Sorry guys, I'm just full of questions this AM. Can you tell I'm enthusiastic about getting her sorted?

Anyway, as you probably know from the other posts it is time to get drive side front floor repairs. The passenger side can be hammered back into shape I think, but the driver's side clearly needs to be cut out and replaced.

I haven't been able to find just the front section of the floor and really don't want to pop for the full floor since it isn't needed. <span style="text-decoration: underline">So unless any has any sourcing ideas on where to find just that front panel (maybe a scrapped car being cut up?)</span> I think I'm going to have to fabricate the panel myself. Not quite sure how I'll do this, but worth the effort in learning how...

Does anyone have the measurements of where the foot well / indentation is on the floor board? That is to say, how far in from the sides of the panel does the taper start and how deep is it?

Thanks for the offer guys, but looking at Mike's pictures I've realized that there isn't any way I'm going to be able to fabricate that to my satisfaction. The curves are beyond my metal working skills. Bummer.

curves are nice but not necessary - as long as there is something to stiffen the floor so it doesn't flex. Assuming you aren't doing a concours restoration, I'd still say go for it

Hi John-Peter. I'm pretty comfortable that I could cut metal to fit and put a bend in it for stiffening, but I'll know it isn't right and it will bug me. Kind of silly given all the other imperfections - and there are a lot - on the car. I think I'm going to save for a replacement panel, use what I need, and then sell the rear section.

Thanks for the idea - for a less insane owner it's a good idea.
