Options, Looking for opinions....

As the title sates I am looking for the opinion of a well more experienced LBC owner *cough* you old guys *cough* HAHAHA

Well with the Spun Rod bearing it marred up the crank and elongated the rod end. So I am left with 2 options.


I have the original motor that needs a complete rebuild. Or do I rebuild the motor that is in there now?

The motor that is in there now has a Lucas Distro from a TR6 on it. So the advance curve may not be what the 2L motor likes.

The Old Motor is a bone stock 73 Motor from the end of the production time frame.

Just sizing up my options.

Cheapest and fastest would be to turn the crank in the damaged motor .010 or .020, have all the rods re-sized and go from there. Second step would be to get the original motor rebuilt at your leisure. Distributor not usually a big deal one way or the other. Bob
