Hey Gang,
Well I just got the winter British Motoring, was happy to see that MOSS has been diligently working on their EFI Kit for the 75-80 MGBs. According to the article the kit is intended as a direct replacement for MGBs currently running the much-hated Zenith Stromberg setup and is scheduled for release this spring.
When I first caught wind of the EFI kit, one of my biggest concerns – was if it would meet the strict California emissions standards. Well it turns out their prototype has already been certified. While they did see some HP improvements with the EFI. It wasn’t really intended as a performance upgrade so much as a means of improving reliability and day-to-day drivability.
The only real issue I see is if the current owner (or the previous owner) had already removed the old ZS setup for something else like say a Webber or a Dual SU setup. But this shouldn’t be such a big concern because chances are if you’ve gone this route you’re not concerned about emissions testing in your area and are better off sticking with what you have.
Price? MOSS is saying it should be about $1400.
Thoughts?
