IOW: Good news – but don’t hold your breath. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Some of you may remember or might have heard some of the chatter or rumblings about Moss Motors forthcoming EFI kit for the later 74.5 thru 80 MGBs running the single ZS carburetor. Moss originally announced its coming back in their Winter 2003/2004 issue of British Motoring.
For a reminder here is a link to Mossmotors’ British Motoring; Moss's MGB EFI
According to the article the kit was originally slated to be released in the Spring of 04. But alas those dates have come & gone and still no word. Chomping at the bit - I finally broke down and sent a few emails to Moss and the editor of British Motoring asking when we could expect the kit to be offered to their loyal customers.
In my email I pointed out that because the new EFI kit is certified CARB legal – it is especially important to customers such as myself, who live in California where our beloved classics now have to be smog tested indefinitely. This was all thanks to some militant loony tree hugging environmentalists.
Anyway today I got a reply (however informal) back that the delay was due to some problems with the manufacture of some of the parts. And that those problems have been addressed and they are expecting release sometime in April 2005.
I already have a check filled out to Moss, signed & ready to be sent just as soon as it is offered up. All I need to know is what the dollar ($) amount is to be filled in.
