Tis a bit cooler.

Droped the tank to see why my fuel guage did not always work.

DUH, conection to sender was loose, put it back with a lock washer. Works a charm now.

Dumb things, guess I screwed up on that. But bet I never have to do it again.

Now off to get a tank of fuel, road trip.

Guage works as it should. I screwed up when installing the wire.

Now to pull the engine, guess that will start Fri. need to replace oil pump, and clean up tranny second gear, think the indent on the shifting rod at the netural position side has a burr. No clue as to how I am going to get one of those oil pumps in. It did not want to fit under the cover when I tried last, I guess I need to see or figure what is holding it out and do a bit of cutting or shaveing on the pump case. Who would have thought. Anyone else had this problem?
Also thinking real hard about the pressure plate and the clutch disk. They sure looked good when I put em in there but they are not new.

Oh well we will see, I can get Tony to overnite em if necessary. Well second or third day in any case.

If your pressure plate was new, its probabbly good. No more than you have driven it, the clutch disc is hardly broken in.

As I recall, Jack, you reused your old clutch/pressure plate, didn't you? If you do the clutch don't forget a throwout bearing also.
